ABOUT US
We (Tim, John and Craig) started The Net Effect in 2020 as we saw an opportunity to help Canadian construction and trades businesses navigate a growing construction software ecosphere in order to become more efficient, profitable and grow.
We know the daily challenges small and medium sized construction business owners face to keep on top of multiple projects, HR and financial considerations. There are a lot of great tools out there to make their lives a little easier, but they generally don’t have the time, energy or tech know how to find the right solution. This is where we believe our combined experience and expertise in running construction businesses and evaluating technologies as well as processes can save our industry colleagues a great deal of time and money.

MEET OUR TEAM
Tim O’Brien
Director of Business DevelopmentTim has been in construction for over 25 years. He founded and operated Brick Drive Paving Ltd. in Whistler, BC and during this time his mantra became “Every customer is a lifelong contact, make sure when the job is done that they are happy with the final product and every interaction along the way”. Tim also worked for a civil excavation contractor as a Contract Supervisor, where he was a part of that company undergoing digital transformation and moving away from paper. Tim is passionate about sharing his knowledge, mentoring and helping you be more successful. Your success is measured in more than just the bottom line, but don’t let that stop you from being wealthy.
Craig Hurst
Director of Client SuccessCraig started using computers in the early 80s and has been honing his digitizing skills ever since. He built his first business software and website in the 90s and has been helping small and large companies improve their digital processes ever since. Craig’s expertise has been applied globally and in many different industries, including construction trades. Before becoming a computer guru, he ran a large kitchen remodelling firm and was an active member of a Home Builders’ Association renovation council. Craig understands the technology challenges of your business and how to solve them. He’ll help you build a better business.
John Enns
Director of Industry RelationsJohn has enjoyed working in the construction industry for over 20 years, with the last 15 years working for Vector Construction Ltd. as the Manitoba Business Development Manager. At Vector, John was responsible for relationship building, estimating, project management and enjoyed constant growth during his time there. John has been on the Winnipeg Construction Association board since 2013 and is now Chair. John has also sat on the Canadian Construction Association board as the Manitoba Director at Large for 4 years, ending in 2019. During his time in the construction industry, John has always looked for better, more efficient ways of doing things and looks forward to helping other contractors grow their business.
Michael Lyseng
Project ManagerMichael has a 20-year career in technology including time as a software developer, consultant and project manager. He has earned his PMP designation as well as completing an additional Digital Project Management diploma from the Louder Than Ten organization. His focus is on process and implementation. Michael's role is ensuring that all of the right questions are brought to the table and everyone has what they need to do their part in the project.
Ini Olorunnishola
Cybersecurity Lead ConsultantIni heads The Net Effect's Cybersecurity department. He is a Software Developer by trade and technology generalist by choice. His focus is implementing the technical aspects of projects through software development and integration. He brings his experience with development, integration as well project management to the Net Effect team.
Chanelle O’Shea
Client AdvisorChanelle grew up in Montreal, Quebec. She has founded 3 businesses of her own, one of which was chosen as one of the top products on Quebec’s business shows (the French spin off version of the show “Dragon’s Den/"Shark Tank" on Radio Canada). Her two other companies were founded in Belgium, Europe, which allowed her to learn and appreciate cross-cultural business environments. She has also enjoyed giving communication trainings and specialized skills trainings to employees in international companies. She has an entrepreneurial flame and a great passion for helping others succeed in achieving their goals. Her background includes creative innovation in developing new products, researching new trends on the market, a strong base in marketing, sales, public relations, customer service and team leadership. Carly van de Pol
Project ManagerCarly has over 20 years of experience in supply chain with a background in purchasing, international logistics, inventory management and software applications. She worked in a diversity of industries, namely distribution, automotive manufacturing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, medical supplies, and oil & gas. Her focus over the last few years is helping small and medium sized companies improve their business processes through enhancements in technology. Carly holds a Master’s in Business Administration, Bachelor of International Business and is certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution (CLTS) from APICS.
Chidubem Ogugua
Project ManagerChidubem Ogugua is an experienced Project Manager and Business Consultant with a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Civil Engineering. She has nine years of experience in dynamic business development, client experience, process improvement, and project management roles in several sectors, and is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Green Belt (Lean Six Sigma), International Facility Management Professional- Facility Management Professional Certification (FMP), and Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO). Chidubem is passionate about identifying areas for improvement, implementing project lifecycle methodologies, and ensuring customer satisfaction. As part of The Net Effect team, she stays up-to-date with the latest trends in technology and provide cutting-edge solutions to companies. Chidubem is eager to collaborate with our clients to streamline operations and identify strategies for profit growth, cost optimization, and process improvement.
Audrey Medaino-Tardif
Project ManagerWoman of many hats, Audrey's an entrepreneur with over 10 years of experience developing and managing small to medium-sized businesses in diverse industries. While trained as a full-stack developer, she has migrated towards data management and automation of digital processes. She's our in-house post-CDAP expert and assists our customers with digital implementation, workflow management and internal information architecture. With a business-minded ethos, she understands the challenges at stake and seeks to help businesses achieve growth and sustenance.
